So is the margin thing optional?
What does a scanner see? I mean, really see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does it see into me--into us--clearly or darkly? I hope it does, see clearly, because I can't any longer these days see into myself.

It is optional but since you need to put a margin in for the bonus point in the main comp, the margin will also be used in the minor comp.  ;)

So will some players be out of the competition after the minor season? Will we be tipping finals?

Not sure what you mean there???

The main comp will run for the 22 rounds only - No Finals.
The minor comp will run through to the GF.

All players are eligible for both comps all year.

The only time a player can be out is if they miss out on tipping 3 consecutive rounds then they are disqualified and removed from the comp.

We should come up with some sort of prize for the winner.

No real prize is available other than an mini banner that will be awarded to the winner(s) which they can use in their signature.

Perhaps Ibd could send out an email to all members reminding them of the impending deadline for AFL/F1 Tipping and Fantasy F1, could get a few inactive members to climb out of the woodwork and participate.

I could but I wont as that most members here should remember to be involved in a comp they signed up for.

As far as inactive members are concerned, they will be contacted automatically (via an installed mod) if they haven't been online for longer than 21 days.

Last year we only had 5 members at the end involved in the AFL tipping comp, so 7 isn't too bad of a number. Plus the comp is open to new members until round 19.

I'd love to say it was a tactical decision, but of course I've picked Essendon every game since Round 3 1998 :)

However, it's worth considering that Hawthorn have had a poor start to the season, they're now 3-4 and that Essendon are 4-1 in Victoria. When they have to go interstate, the young lineup of the bombers are going to struggle but I think at home they're a good chance to cause a lot of upsets this year.
