Well with this new section I thought I would christen it with some drift action from WA to get the ball rolling
Round 1 of the 2009/10 season has been done and dusted with very interesting results! The normal thing in WA is for Cefiro/Skyline/Silvia or something japanese and turboed dominating. This was the case last year with Adam "Borneo" trewhella dominating and taking the state championship in his australia wide know Cefiro. In the off season he sold the Cefiro to concentrate of off road racing, but last minute this year he and JWS (japanese wholesale spares) put together one of the most interesting drift cars in Australia, a Subaru Liberty with S15 Silvia running gear and a SR20 turbo motor (which when I visited the workshop 2 nights before the first drift comp was not running and did not even look like it was going to make it) This new car was added in amongst several 2 and 3 car teams and a large field of 30 odd cars fronted up for first round

Come top 8 time most of the big names where there despite a few upsets and the top qualifier being knocked out in the round of 16. Eventually as the battles went on through the knockout rounds it came down to the top 3 with Borneos Liberty in 3rd, Nicolas "Banger" Van Geest in an R34 2nd and flying the

flag high with his first ever win was Travis Pickett taking the win in his superchraged Maloo ute

Here are some pics of the first round
