Results from the GatorNationals
Only the Final rounds not any close races, may get some time later in the week to go through them and put some up.

Pro Stock Motorcycle Final

 (W) Hector Arana (Lucas Oil Buell)     (0.076)      6.977 @ 191.40mph
 (L) Matt Smith (Nitrofish Suzuki)        (0.056)     7.133 @ 185.51mph

Smith is 3 - 2 against Arana in prior events and this is the first time they have faced each other in a final round. It's Smith's 21st final round of his career, and the 2nd time he's been in the money round here at Gainesville. (Runner-up in 2007 to Karen Stoffer.)

But Arana has been perfect all day - he has run low ET of every single round of competition, the final is no different. Arana takes home the 2nd win of his career, the party in the pits will be huge!

Hector Arana's MOV: 0.1363 seconds (approximately 37 feet).

Pro Stock Car Final

(W) Jason Line (Summit Racing Equipment GXP)    (0.029)      6.614 @ 209.20mph
(L) Allen Johnson (Mopar/J & J Racing Stratus)     (0.046)      6.607 @ 209.01mph

Line is 11 - 6 against Johnson in prior events and Line is 2 - 0 against Johnson in prior final rounds. Line is out of the gate first and has the power to hold on for the hole shot win. Jason Line's MOV: 0.0105 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Line wins his 17th National event in his career and second this year, also his second at Gainesville. He will leave Gainesville as the point leader and Allen Johnson will be in second place.

Funny Car Final

(W) Bob Tasca III (Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustan (0.098)      4.200 @ 280.72mph
(L) Tony Pedregon (Quaker State Impala)           (0.060)      4.536 @ 210.90mph

Pedregon is the defending event champ. Tasca is in his very first final round.

Pedregon left first and was pulling away when the engine in the Quaker State machine started to fail. Tasco drove by before half track then likely experienced the longest two seconds of his life before the finish line finally flashed by.

Congrats to Tasca and the entire Motorcraft Quick Lane team.

Top Fuel Dragster Final

W) Larry Dixon (Al-Anabi Racing Dragster)    (0.091)     3.898 @  311.05mph
(L) Cory McClenathan (Fram Dragster)         (0.095)     4.570 @ 192.60mph

Dixon is out of the gate first and never looked back to take the win. McClenathan started to smoke the tyres around 330 feet and pedaled it, but couldn't get it to hook back up. Dixon wins from the number one spot for the 11th time in his career, and the last time he did it was the last anyone not named Tony Schumacher did back in Englishtown of 2005.

Top Alcohol Funny Car Final

(W) Frank Manzo (Lucas Motor Oil Monte Carlo)   (0.043)      5.528 @ 262.69mph
(L) Steve Harker (Monte Carlo)                        (0.052)      16.718 @ 54.36mph

Manzo is the defending event champion...Harker is up in smoke as soon as the light turns green. Manzo wins his seventh Gatornationals. He continues his dominance over Harker beating him for the tenth time and the sixth time in the money round. Manzo was a little loose right off the starting line, but then blast on through the 1320 for the fastest speed of the event.

I think the problem that ESPN had with this event was the Baseball World Champs or  whatever it was.  However putting it on 4 or so days after it actually happened is pathetic. (This site would crash if Ten did that to F1 and that is why I don't get that upset with Ten and their F1  coverage.)

Was hoping that Steve Harker  would have won  but  making the finals is still a good result

Great to see Dixon win,  I would love to see Dixon and Kalitta fight it out all season long

As a fan of Greg Anderson and Jason Line it was good to see Jason get another win.  He seems to be on top of his game this year.....well so far anyway.
