another good summary as always mate....

how would you be pulling a perfect tree .000 and being chased down! haha harsh

on that subject, there wasnt a single side by side elimination in T/F with a reaction time in the .100's.. all of them in the .0's thats amazing racing!

i still cant get my head around the 1000ft times. 3.9 @ 300mph is bloody quick tho!

and whats with the slow pro stock times? did i miss something? is it because of the all concrete track or have they downgraded to 400ci? im very confused? all 7 second passes?

Yeah I had a quick glance down at the times without thinking 1000 ft, and saw the Tony S (I cant bring myself to write the 'Schu' name) time of 4.007 and thought WTF are they on over there..... lol ;)

In relation to the slow pro stock times ( I aint no  engine  expert )  but the title gives it away a bit.  Mile High nationals.  The air is not as dense up there and the pro stock cars and bikes struggle to make the HP and run the times and speeds that they do when they are running at  "sea level." or tracks closer to "sea level"  The  nitro boys and girls  do feel it a bit as well but nowhere near as much as the pro  stock boys and girls.  The next meet should see even faster times for the  nitro classes and the pro stock classes will be back to their normal  times and speeds.

Edit...  Greg Anderson was the only one who  came close (all event in the pro stock classes) to breaking the 7's  which was done during  his final run  in  qualifying

aah of course thank you!

that 7.01 by Anderson was a track record btw, which had me scratching my head. I cant believe the air has the effect of 4 tenths of a second  :o

when nitro burns it creates its own oxygen so it doesnt effect them nearly as badly you'r right! it all makes sence now! haha

the Perth Motorplex being so close to Kwinana Beach has excellent air. It is also the only track in Oz to see 6 sec Naturally Asperated passes. (2 different cars in fact.)

Watched the  Mopar Mile High Nationals today on ESPN.

Some very good racing  and it takes a bit of getting used to seeing the nitro cars running 1000 feet and the  pro stock cars and bikes running the traditional 1320 feet . Hopefully they can get the cars and safety stuff sorted out soon so that they can go back to the traditional 1320 feet (1/4 mile)

Tim Wilkerson  took out 3 of the 4 John Force racing cars  then took out one of the Don Schumacher cars in the final of Funny Car.  He is  on fire at the moment.

Did an interview with Angele Sampey (pro stock motorcycle rider and 3 time champ)
She said some interesting things if not disturbing things.  When she first started, her competitors would spit on her, tell her to get back to the kitchen where she belongs and would even spray graffiti on her trailer.  Also said that the people who did those things either can not admit to doing them or will not admit to going as far as they did.

Not sure if I heard it correctly or not but they said Greg Anderson did 2 days of testing at the track leading up to the event and found that due to the higher altitude his engines were down on HP by some figure like 28%.??

Well I read something about over 25% for a certain category (cant remember which) so it all sounds about right. ;)
