Finals Results from the weekends racing

Top Fuel Dragster Final

(W) Morgan Lucas (Geico Powersport/ Lucas Oil  (0.049)      5.231 @ 162.86mph
(L) Spencer Massey (US Smokeless Dragster)     (0.059)      5.418 @ 145.25mph

Lucas is in his sixth final round. This is Massey's first final round - in fact, this is the first time he has been past the second round and he only had one Top Fuel round win before today. These two have never raced each other before: Massey is Lucas' 34th different opponent, Lucas is Massey's eighth. In fact, Massey has never faced any of his four opponents today in any prior event in Top Fuel. Massey is in his 7th race, Lucas his 107th. Both drivers have recorded several divisional and national event wins in Top Alcohol Dragster, Massey winning here in '07 and '08. However, no matter which driver wins, it will be their first-ever Top Fuel "Wally."

This promised to be a close race, turned into a pedaling contest, both drivers on and off the throttle at least four times, Massey getting very sideways. In the end, Lucas had more momentum and coasted across the line first by a couple car lengths. Morgan Lucas' incremental margins: 60ft(0.010), 330 ft(0.013), 660ft(0.020). MOV: 0.1978 seconds (approximately 42 feet).

Funny Car Final

(W) Jack Beckman (Valvoline/MTS Charger)        (0.073)     4.128 @ 303.43mph
(L) Ashley Force Hood (Castrol GTX Mustang)     (0.112)     4.157 @ 248.39mph

Beckman is 2 - 1 against Force Hood in prior events and Force Hood is 1 - 0 against Beckman in prior final rounds. This is a rematch of the Houston final from earlier this year. Beckman was out of the gate first and then Force Hood chased him down and had the lead at 660 feet, but then the pipes got real wet and she slowed. Beckman with his quickest pass today. This is seventh National event win. Beckman moves into second place in the points.

Pro Stock Car Final

(W) Mike Edwards (Young Life/Penhall GXP)   (0.0190      6.645 @ 208.17mph
(L) Jeg Coughlin (Jegs.com Cobalt)              (0.043)      7.190 @ 155.11mph

The final pair of cars for the event. Coughlin has an 18-6 record against Edwards in prior events, 2-0 in final rounds, but Edwards nailed the usually quick Coughlin to the tree and won going away, Coughlin slowing past half track. Coughlin's car was making a lot of "darty" moves, apparently missing the setup for today's changed conditions.

Pro Stock Motorcycle Final

(W) Eddie Krawiec (Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hine  (0.019)      6.902 @ 192.91mph
(L) Douglas Horne (Horne Racing Buell)                (0.041)      6.949 @ 191.13mph

Krawiec with the starting line advantage, and then runs another great pass to get his first National event win. Douglas Horne's incremental times: 60ft-1.049 sec., 330ft-2.871, 660ft-4.420/158.20 mph, 1,000ft-5.779. Another great showing for the rookie as he has gone to the final round twice in three races. Krawiec will leave here fourth in the points.

Congrats to the first time winners in Morgan Lucas and  the 08  champ Eddie Krawiec and to Mike Edwards and "Fast" Jack Beckman their wins as well.

Not sure if or when this event will  be broadcast.  Last time I looked there was no NHRA until sometime  on either Friday or Saturday.  It may have been put on yesterday or this morning but I have not been able to check yet
