Loyal Members,
There's been a recent change to the Admin/ Mod team of late with EB and Yoda having chosen to leave the forums on their own accord. This was of their choosing.
Sadly we have to advise our loyal members that there was an incident last Wednesday where a long term senior member decided in his last job as admin that he would go through and delete all of his posts and threads, over 8000 posts were deleted in what could only be described as a spiteful and vindictive attack on the forum as a whole. This is why the forum was down for most of Wednesday, as there was a lot of repairs needing to be made to rectify this needless destruction. This was done after obtaining the forums database and your private information, such as email addresses, etc.
Not only his posts were deleted but many many member posts were also deleted in this unfortunate episode.
Now for the good news - there will be a new section added to the forums - as long as we can get our multi media megastar to agree, he's being coy, so we're still trying to prompt him. There's also a new website coming soon too - just a site that makes finding practical information about the motorsport you love so much easier to find.
We've got a few people wanting to share ideas in that regard as well, so if you've got any ideas on what you'd like to see, drop us a line.
The server issue is almost solved as well, as you would have seen elsewhere on this forum, so plain sailing is in sight in the next few days.
We're also looking at making it far easier to gain access to more of the sports you want to watch.....more news on that in the coming months.
We've also had some interest from people wanting to become mods - that's not the way things are normally done, but given the interesting photos one member has sent of his sister, we might be willing to change the way in which we look at decisions like that in future.
New themes are in the works, as well as a bit of reworking here - some old members who were banned for no other reason than pettiness are also on their way back - so make them welcome.
The new, fresher moderation team will be announcing a change to way in which the forums are modded as well - shortly.
In accordance with the wishes of some of our more senior members theres a move toward greater transparency - we agree - members need to know what's going on when it seems like "funny" things are occurring - we're sorting out the most appropriate way to do it, and again wish to invite anyone with an opinion on that to get over to the O/T sections and make your thoughts known.
Finally and most importantly - these forums are for all of us, so please make use of the ideas suggestions threads and let us know what you'd like to see in your forums. Less forum politics? - sorted.
The new AMF team.
