Race Preview

Scott Dixon won the 2010 race, but not without controversy involving front-row starter Helio Castroneves. He was penalized positions for blocking with 10 laps remaining in the 95-lap race on the City Centre Airport circuit.
Dixon held off Castroneves' teammate, Will Power, for his second victory of the season. All three drivers will return with their respective teams on the new airport course in July.

The 2.256-mile, 13-turn circuit that incorporates a section of airport runway will challenge drivers and provide lots of action for spectatros. The 90-degree first turn is augmented by a pair of hairpins at the north and south ends of the course. There also are two long straights for drag racing.

NOTE: This is a changed track from previous years...

Fun fact

Edmonton is a tourism hot spot, boasting the world’s largest shopping mall, the largest stretch of urban parkland in North America and an array of diverse attractions, from the Great Divide waterfall (24 feet higher than Niagara Falls) to historic Fort Edmonton Park.
