Rain eases Rally GB tyre wear fears

Wednesday, October 21st 2009, 08:53 GMT

Concerns over excessive tyre wear on this weekend's Rally GB have eased following heavy rain on the opening day of the recce for the final round the World Rally Championship.

The drivers will be using Pirelli's soft compound Scorpion tyre on the Cardiff-based event and five-time world champion Sebastien Loeb had been among those worried by the prolonged dry spell which had left the Welsh roads hard and abrasive.

Im hoping that Hirvonen can keep taking it to Loeb, the sport needs new challengers as opposed to loeb constantly dominating
