Dumb question, but is the Bathurst 12 Hour a Pro-Am race like the Grand-Am Series?

Bad luck for Lowndes with the puncture shortly after getting the lead, still lots of time to get back into it though. It certainly is a close race up to this point :)

Yeah Bradk, well sort of. The cars with graded drivers have to carry extra ballast for parity, and also have to make a min of 10x90sec stops.

Great race, shame the feed kept cutting out. But in all the guys who set it up are legends. Thats how all racing needs to be, no commercialized crap. 12 hours of racing no ads.

What do you mean by 'graded drivers'?

Graded drivers are those that have won various championships or are professionals in the top categories. i.e They could be a full time pro in V8SC like Lowndes and Luff, or full time works people like the 2 German drivers in the other Audi. Or they could be "technically"unpaid amateurs" but have won something like the GT championship or the Carrera Cup etc. Also tends to cover some of the blokes who have retired from professional racing but have a lot of experience, like John Bowe of Craig Baird.
