BTCC reveals 'NGTC' rules for 2011

Friday, April 9th 2010, 11:10 GMT

British Touring Car Championship organiser TOCA has revealed the final specification of the new 'Next Generation Touring Car' technical regulations that will come into force in 2011.

The main change to the initial NGTC regulations unveiled last June, is that rear-wheel drive cars, such as the BMW 320si, will now be allowed.............
As is with what is happening in V8SC's this is all about cost cutting. Not a bad thing if you are trying to preserve the sport for the future.

It will be interesting to see how the BTCC handles this as a comparison to V8SC.

It would appear to be the British version of NASCAR or V8SC standard floor plan with parity limited engines covered by a sillouette. V8SC and BTCC wil at least have opening doors.
Cost saving might be the motive but how long will the "product" be saleable as entertainment as the cars get further and further away from reality?

They say cost saving is a motive.

Howe close are the cars now to reality?
