You know it is a plain shame that they couldn't have left most of the track surface as it was, and had them as suburban streets.
Obviously they'd have to snip sections out in order to made the 'shoebox' sized house blocks, and intersections in those streets, but basically the 'guts' of the track left behind to show where it once was.
Clearly it wouldn't be Oran Park race circuit anymore, but you would then see where it once was, and how it ran. The fact that you'd have road intersections and the track disappearing in to house blocks, it couldn't be used for hooning as some might say.
You could cruise around to say the old dog leg, and be able to say that's where it used to be, and the basics of that corner would be there, but perhaps now it is a roundabout or 'T' intersection in the development.
