Well that was an interesting Bathurst.
The Besnard BBQ was an interesting situation. No reminders to pump up the brakes after a pad change, and spins backwards in to the tyre bundles at turn 2, spraying fuel all over the place, then having it ignite 'downstairs' from the camera platform, rather than from something hot on the car. I can only guess that the cameraman was smoking up there whilst doing his job, and the lit cigarette found its way to the ground where the fuel got splashed, and then ignited it all.
Good on the firies to go out there to put it out on a 'hot' track prior to the SC being deployed.
What a dice at the end of the race between Lowndes and Tander though, edge of the seat stuff with it coming down to such a tight finish. I could imagine if it was someone other than Lowndes doing the chasing, we'd be waiting long after the chequered flag for a resultant stewards decisions, as I'm sure if it was someone like Murphy, Tander could've been turned around.
Great going for Nick Percat, the latest maiden winner of Bathurst since Jacky Iycx. I wonder how Paul Morris feels after his comments about Percat at Wanneroo earlier this year.
