So why did it take so long for them to ping Lowndes for crossing the blend line exiting pitlane ?

Surely they knew all about it, and could've given the penalty before the next SC period, but for some reason they decided to wait until the next SC came out to maximise the penalty, causing Lowndes to drop right down to the back of the field.

As Barry Sheene put it years ago, "consistantly inconsistant" !!

I see nothing in regards to winterbottom driving into johnson.  lowndes and courtney both this year have to get rid of there hex they have had a heap of bad luck, but what did courtney expect going over to the dark side did he not talk to will at all about the move. I hope he can rip a few more wheels from the car over the year as well, maybe only then will i be happy about the move.

Frankly, there should be massive penalties handed out to cars overshooting their pit bays.

So, it's wet. No excuse. It was so unsafe it wasn't funny.

Drivers in the past have been heavily penalised for a lot less than that.

PS - my heart skipped a beat when Skaifey said "Mother Falcon"  :o

I tend to agree with you on this one.

It's a known situation that they have smooth concrete pit aprons, that are slippery at the best of times, and diabolical to say the least when you get a downpour like they did.

I've got a great idea, let's put two way radios in to all the cars so that the teams can tell the drivers to be extra careful when they come in to the pits.

I couldn't believe that cars were still trying to enter the pits with the entry blocked by a car sideways across the entry, and then I think it was Tander who entered the pits by charging around the officials and other workers who were trying to move the GRM car, and tried to stop Tander so that they could finally turn the stricken around and out of the way.

They appeared to be more interested in giving Lowndes a drive through in one race after he'd clipped the wall on the way out that caused him to get two wheels across the blend line, but who quickly pulled his car back across the line. Sure he crossed the blend line, but did he do it deliberately, or was it a result of an accident ?
