I was just wondering how on earth are they going to light up the inside section from turns 3 to 6, as you can't really put light towers out in the open without significant impact protection ?
For those that went there for the 2010 event, will know how light on the ground the spectator numbers were. I've seen bigger numbers at the National Historics, than there were on that weekend.
Clearly with the v8sc demands for corporate areas, it has really put off the mug punter from going there, as all their favourite spots have been taken away from them in the hunt for the bigger dollar corporate suck up.
The takeover of pretty much all the spectator areas between turns 3 and 6 there, has taken the better viewing areas away from 'Joe Sixpack and Wanda Nailpolish and their sprogs', so they sooner stay at home to watch it on their plasma TV. Why would they want to pay top dollar to sit halfway down the back straight to watch the cars zip past them, and get ripped off on the food prices ?
No doubt somewhere on the way we'll get some rock concert to attract people to by race tickets to get in to the 'free' concert, just like they did for the GC600.... check out that thread to see the picture of the mostly empty stands opposite the pits just before Sunday's race !!!
