My concern is that we will lose rounds in Australia in favour of overseas rounds, as I think they still have a cap on the number of rounds in a season?

Already we see that Symmons Plains due to expected less Tasmanian Government funding is looking very likely to lose their round.

We only have a round in South Australia because of subsidies of the SA Govt., and the street circuit. Meanwhile Mallala loses out.

NSW other than Bathurst, only has a temporary street circuit until the govt., loses faith in it and stops funding it.

Qld, has 3 rounds, with QR set to lose their round sooner or later, leaving 2 temporary street tracks.

Victoria is the lucky state, where they hold 3 rounds at permanent tracks, plus a non-champ round at the Grand Prix, so 4 events in the state!

WA is lucky that their state govt has been talked in to funding the event at a permanent track, and the same with the NT and Hidden Valley.

Clearly we see that Tassie and Qld have 'expendable' rounds, which will open up races overseas. We also have 4 race weekends in Victoria that could easily be chopped in half, giving an opening to another 2 overseas rounds.

Now that the series has been sold off, this new business is there to make money and stuff the traditions of Australian race series (NZ is just a part of Australia if you like).

If that happens, have you got any spare rooms??

The NSW gov has already said they wan't to get rid of the Homebush event and would rather spend the $$$ to have it at Easteren Creek.

With new ownership at EC and the start of the season kicking off there (at no charge) this year, we may well see a round back there in the future.

Didnt QR get extended this year and the government / council giving qr a lifeline?
